CEO Brandon Brown and Top Cable Technology Officers to Discuss Current and Future Technology Standards for Cable

NEW YORK, NY — Feb. 27, 2010 — Zodiac Interactive, an Emmy award–winning developer of software for interactive television, announced today CEO Brandon Brown will speak at the industry leading TV of Tomorrow event on Thursday, March 4, hosted by Interactive TV Today [itvt] – the most widely read and trusted news source on the rapidly emerging medium of multiplatform interactive television (ITV).

Brown and other prominent leaders from the interactive TV technology and programming spaces, including top technology officers from CableLabs and Canoe Ventures, will explore the current status––and attempt to predict the future––of the cable industry–backed ETV/EBIF and tru2way standards.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • lessons that have been learned from early EBIF deployments;

  • the future of the testing process for EBIF applications;
  • strategies for accelerating the process of on-boarding already–tested EBIF applications, and for templatizing such application specifics as file size, functionality, data capture and user interface;

  • features and functionality that should be added to future implementations of the EBIF spec;
  • the relationships going forward between EBIF, tru2way and IP to the set–top box.

Zodiac Interactive recently released the latest version of its iTV framework, PowerUp 2.5™, a cross–platform software that unifies and enables advanced iTV applications across multiple set–tops, including legacy boxes. PowerUp 2.5 allows mobile and internet devices and applications to integrate and work directly with the set–top.

Zodiac plans to demonstrate PowerUp 2.5 functionality for the first time at the upcoming National Cable and Telecommunications Association conference, The Cable Show,in Los Angeles May 11–13 2010.
