Tru2Way Emerges

Zodiac Interactive had a fantastic Cable Show in New Orleans this week.   Zodiac’s long term investment in tru2way/OCAP has been proven as a success.  Zodiac was recognized by CableLabs as an innovator in tru2way and was the winner of the 2008 tru2way Developer’s Challenge.

The promise of tru2way of building applications once and deploying them on multiple platforms was proven at the show as Zodiac’s applications and games ran seamlessly at partner exhibits ADB, Alticast, Motorola, and Thomson.  Zodiac’s PowerUp for tru2way platform enabled both full screen applications such as TVPhoto, as well as Zidget (TV Widgets) applications such as local search, weather, traffic, sports scores and games.  Below is a video highlighting the Zidgets that were profiled at the show:

OnRamp Becomes Top of Mind
Another topic that emerged at The Cable Show is that MSOs need to start thinking about what to do with the tens of millions of legacy set-top boxes, as tru2way’s Java platform takes hold.  Should operators support the same applications in multiple operating environments? Or does it make sense to migrate everything to Java?  Cox and Comcast, made a choice to run everything in JAVA on their TVWorks platform, now other operators are investigating their options.

Zodiac, in our Executive Suite, profiled our new PowerUp for PowerRamp Suite of products.   PowerRamp is a highly optimized stack that is OnRamp (JSR242) compliant built on latest SUN Microsystems technology.  PowerUp for PowerRamp offers operators advanced features that improve performance and create an enhanced user experience.  Below is a video that highlights the amazing performance and unique features PowerUp for PowerRamp:
